Tony Devine, Brian Sabourin and Insoo Kim came up with the concept of an educator's conference while on a mountainside in Alaska back in the summer of 2002. They pulled together some like-minded colleagues and set up the first "Educators Conference" on the campus of the Unification Theological Seminary in 2002. Everyone was so pleased with the result that we decided to make it an annual conference, and the informal group coalesced into a Steering Committee for The Center For Education at UTS, with Dr. Chang Shik Yang as Honorary Chair. The Steering Committee expands as it discovers new and better ways to serve the community.

The Center for Education at
UTS has embarked on an important journey. More importantly, we wish to
encourage you to join us on this journey. Whether you are an educator,
religious educator, ministry leader for a specific community, a parent or
someone interested in education, we invite you to travel down this educational
road with us. If you have educational materials that you are using and feel are
effective, share them with the Center for Education. If you have a ministry
that you wish to share with others or simply want to network and learn from
others, register for the upcoming annual conference. If you have educational
concerns that you think others might be facing as well, send them to us so that
they can be addressed through the annual conference or through research or the
development of resources. Or if you simply want to engage in this valuable
educational conversation, introduce yourself to us today. We are sure that you
will find this to be a conversation well worth your time and investment.
As the Center grows and
develops, the list of activities sponsored by the Center will also grow and
expand. This is what excites all of us the most - the almost unlimited
possibilities that are spread out before us...
